Retinal imaging is a noninvasive diagnostic tool that produces a colored image of the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels in the back of the eye. This helps the doctor assess the health of the retina and detect and manage certain eye and health conditions such as diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. These images can be compared side by side over the years to discover changes and help monitor one’s health.
